Hardware-based mixing and mastering for artists who want a more human sound.
Lean into analog. Run away from AI.
I work with real hardware because I believe records should be shaped by ears, hands, and deliberate choices. I use analog tools where they matter, and digital tools where they make sense. The goal is not nostalgia for its own sake - this is art on my behalf too - and I much prefer the 'paint brush' of knobs and faders aided by my ears and heart over mouse clicks, plugins, and my eyes.
Analog recall is imperfect, and that is part of the point. Each pass is a decision, not an endlessly adjustable preset. The limitations create commitment, and commitment is often where a record starts to feel alive.
How my preferences impact how I work
- Working in analog means documenting - where feasible - every knob, button, fader, etc. This means that if revisions are offered for a mix or mastering service, we will have to negotiate a time window for revisions. The further time passes, the more difficult the recall becomes.
- Due to the recall realities noted above, I strongly suggest - and may require - attending sessions for tweaking and refinement before sending you home to see if the work needs any revisions. The studio is equipped with great monitoring, as well as top-of-the-line headphone monitoring (Audeze) , with the option to bring your own headphones. That way, we can work together collaboratively on fine-tuning and revisions. If it's a mix session, you too can put your hands on knobs. You think the bass needs more air? Head over to the EQ - and give it a try.
Pricing and other stuff
All services are paid for upfront. Just like ordering Pizza.
Mixing- $500 a song
Note: If you have more than 2 songs to mix, we can negotiate a deal. Just reach out.
When it comes to mixing, the constraints and benefits of an analog workflow are increased. I won't take any mixing job - and you shouldn't hire just any mixing engineer. We'll have a healthy conversation to see if we're a good fit. Providing a rough mix is probably essential - and I may want to pull your tracks into a session to validate that it's something I'd like to take on.
My preferred way of working is to do the heavy lifting alone - and bring you in to listen for a quick fine-tune over an hour. This is where we'd likely identify areas you most likely want to revise in the future: sometimes it's good to jot those down together - have you depart for some further listening - and report back in our agreed-upon revision window for revisions.
Generally, it is 2 rounds of revisions for a mix.

Mastering - $250 a song
Note: If you have more than 1 song to master - we can negotiate a deal - just reach out.
Mastering is much simpler. We'll negotiate what you'll need as far as assets for your masters (and the specs for your assets) and determine a good time window for revisions before mastering begins.
Like with mixing, I prefer to set up a listening session together to understand what revisions must be made, work on doing a few together, and then work on finalizing revisions within our negotiated timebox.
Recording, Mixing, and Mastering
The whole shebang! My humble home studio is equipped with many guitars, amplifiers, synths, and a great drum set in a treated room. We have artist headphone monitoring, where everyone can create their own mix and perform in the same room, while the amps are miked up in a separate amp room.
I can also travel with you to track in another studio, and Mix and Master at my place.
